What are the symptoms of wheel bearings going bad? What are consequences of not replacing them right away?

You will start to hear a growling noise. This is the first sign and should not be put off very long at all.

The way to be sure is when you swerve from side to side on the road the noise will get quieter on the side that you are loading and that is the wheel bearing that is failing.
