45 mph the car starts making a humming noise.

Only at this speed, what could be causing this? I just bought the cars for my kids. and when we reach the speed of around 45 - 50 mph we hear a low humming noise coming from the engine.

i would check for a bearing noise from maybe the water pump. from your description, it may be the issue.

the pump will seize up or the pulley will fall off leaving you stranded wherever it happens.

get it checked to verify and get a bid.
