There is a loud click/knock in the ac compressor, im not sure what is causing it. Do you have any ideas what it could be and best way to fix it. Is it hard to replace the ac compressor? Or would it be better for me to take it into a shop to get fixed/replaced?

Not hearing the noise makes it tough to diagnose. The compressor will make a normal clicking sound when the clutch is engaged. If you are hearing something different, it will take a trained ear to determine what the problem may be.

As far as replacement, it requires proper tools to evacuate and recharge the system. Other than that, it really isn't much more than removing the belt, unbolting the part and replacing it.
