1999 Ford Explorer transmission problem

It start well but does not enter gear. What could be possible cause and how do I solve it? Have drain the gear oil wash the filter" no result. Thanks looking forward for reply.

You washed the filter? That is a throw away part the gets replaced. Tell me, has the check engine light come on or the OD light? Have you checked to make sure the linkage is connected and working properly between the shifter in the vehicle and the transmission? Is the transfer case in 2wd hi range and not by accident in neutral?
