just purchase a used explorer 1999, 190.00 miles or so, for $4500.00 , and the light on the 4wheel drive stayed on low gear .. and would not switch back auto..i heard a lot of funny sounds when driving like it was an transmission problem.. is this going to go out.. and was it worth the amount of $4500.00 it is a v ery clean car.. when purchase it sound good and I only had it for 2weeks.. I purchase an extended insurance covarage , would it be best to use a ford dealer to fix this car???

If you bought an extended warranty, I think you need to call the people you bought the car from and tell them what's happening, was it a Dealer or private sale? If it was a dealer, let them look at it first. I would take it to either a Ford dealer or good transmission shop, they do these all day long and can tell you if it's a simple, or complex problem.
