tried the alternator and plugs and wires

I own a 1999 ford escort zx2. I have been have major electrical problems, such as the dashboard and headlights dimming and brightening when i hit the gas and break. Also my car idles very roughly at red lights and stop signs. I have already had the plugs replaced.

Measure the voltages on the small plugged-in wires on the generator while the engine is running and the problem is occurring.
