Grinding at 60 mph in a 1999 Ford escort

The car will start kind of rough. When my daughter hits 60 mph there is a kind of grinding stutter. It also does it when she is accelerating up a hill. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

it may be a wheel bearing or axle shaft going bad. have this car looked at by a pro immediately
