my brother has a 1999 ford escort sedan 5 speed trans, split port injection. it suffers a serious power loss until 3,000 rpm, then operates as normal...he has tried several things....plugs, wires, fuel filter, throttle sensor, 02 sensor...no results or even partial results....any thoughts?

scan for codes and chekc fuel pressure first. check vacuum at idle if 15" or below suspect clogged converter
