Hello, I have a 99 ford escort with a blown head gasket. My father had bought a kit to fix but I still need to have the heads themselves checked. I was wondering about how much something like that may be and is it even worth fixing with my kind of car. I found out that with my kind of car that the engine was discontinued in 2004.

Anytime we have a head gasket issue it is a good idea that we confirm it by running this test.

Then when you are replacing it, if the engine overheated then you want to get the head and block checked to make sure it is not cracked or warped.

I attached the spec below for the head and block so please run through this and let us know what questions you have.

Thanks
