white smoke and a funny smell coming through the vents

why is there white smoke and a funny smell coming through the vents when I turn on the heat or the defrost in my car? I have put in some antifreeze and the temperature gauge was in the middle and then when I started to drive the level was slowly dropping and the smoke was starting to come through the vents. Now the level is slightly beyond the c mark and now there is alot of smoke coming inside my car when I drive.

heater core is leaking inside the vents. make sure they replace the thermostat as well.
