gas tank removed ?

I'm working on replacing a gas tank on a 1999 Crown Vic. I'm having some problems getting some of the parts off I have the gas tank removed and there are hoses connected to the top of the tank, how do I remove these?

there is a special tool you can purchase from most good autoparts stores which prevents the clips/fittings from breaking when removed !
