Ford Contour 1999

I have a 1999 contour. while driving down the highway the battery light came on pulled over to check and light went out. 117k mi. I think alternator is going. serpentine belt is ok. Anything else?

if charging light is coming on then it is a good sign of a failing alternator. most local auto part stores check charging systems for free.

Yes suspect alternator
should have it checked ASAP
