why is my car making a clicking noise when I hit my gas after a mile of driving?

Please I would like to know why my '99 dodge stratus is making a clicking noise after a mile that i drive it when i hit the gas.. no one around me knows what this might be.. could you help?

check all the motor mounts for any play.

Will do.. I did replace my front one, I noticed it was bad when i shifted gears and my motor moved up and down.. Wondering If you have ever hear of a "lifter" i think this might be whats wrong. Im still learning about cars. my husband is always at work and id like to figure this out on my own ;) Thank you for your help. it really means a lot.
