I own a 1999 Dodge Ram Sport 4x4 and my current gear ratio is 3:55 and I am going with either 4:10 or 4:56 and I would like to know when I purchase the ring and pinion for front and back will I also have to purchase a master install kit to do the job right.

Reading Mitchell 1 it appears that the set up for these diffs is quite complex, getting pre loads and diff pinion shimming is very critical, there are a few special tools and precision measuring instruments used as well, are you up for this task, it is by no means just fitting new gears far from it, so if you are up for this, get the master kit and do everything by the book.
