Why do I have a rough idle after I just changed water pump & timing belt in my 2.0 sohc

Changed timing belt and it has a rough idle, and even worse when I am in reverse. It did not do this before I change the timing belt & water pump. It also seems to have a lack of pick up on lower end of RPMs.

did the belt fail or break?? if it did, you may have a bent valve. a compression test on all cylinders will verify
