Thinking of buying a 1999 Dodge Neon 2.0 L 4 door for a grand. The check engine light is on, torque converter clutch. The engine makes noise at idle, gets less if I press my hand on it. The alternator belt squeals when I turn on the air conditioner and windshield wipers, stops squealing when I turn them off. There is a clunk sound (from the chassis?) when driving down the parking lot, seller says he checked rear struts and they were not loose. I am a home mechanic. What do you advise.
