When battery cables connected flashers flash and van will not start?

Okay. This is interesting. Can you turn the flashers off? Does the vehicle have a factory security system or an aftermarket installed?

No security system. Changed blower motor. Reconnected cables. Flashers going unless disconnect battery. Lights, radio, blower fan all work with key turned but only clicking noise when try to start

I have on more question. When you say flashers, do you mean the 4 way flashers or the turn signal flashers.
