i changed water pump and timing belt on dodge stratus 2.4 dohc. had to remove cam sprockets. do both sprockets need to be oriented "up" on face? i thought i reinstalled both the way they came off but car wont start. sounds wrong when i crank, like theres no compression.

Go to our homepage under the DIY section for timing belt diagrams. Based on your description, it sounds out of time. Please note, I believe this is an interferance engine. If the timing is too far out, it could bend a valve.
