I know already that my power steering pump needs to be changed. But now the wheel/pulley is broke thats attached to the pump. My belt keeps coming off. My question is can I buy a different size belt and bypass the pump, since I've not had any power steering all this time it wouldn't make that much difference in the steering. But can it be bypassed that way with another sized belt that would go to the rest of the pulleys? I know it's probably not recommended, but I don't have the money to put it in a shop to change the pump out or the tools to get someone I know to change it out. But I need to get it to my house and need to know if it will be drivable in any different way than our already man handling to make turns. Like I said we've already been dealing with the stiff turns cause the pump won't hold fluid.
