Remote access does not hold code.. reprogrammed according to owners manual works briefly

My remote access does not work. I reprogammed it according to owners manual. It works briefly, then stops. I have to reprogram it. I recently had car battery replaced. Also the trunk release in the vehicle doesn't work neither are the visor lights. Don't know if they are related. The remote fob is fairly new
