Replaced Key Fob one year ago. Worked well until last week. Pushed button to unlock doors and car alarm started making bleeping noises. Doors unlocked but when I got in alarm went off and could not start car. Waited approximately 10 mins. And car started. Put new battery in Key Fob, light blinks but does nothing else. Now Key Fob will not lock doors or set alarm. Do I need to reprogram Key Fob? How is that done. Key Fob: Car-Pro xt35 FCC ID: H50T14

Key fob and chipped key programming is done at a car dealership. It is by no menas cheap and it is best to buy some fobs and keys before you do it because you can find a set of 5 fobs and 5 keys for usually under $100. Be wary of EBAY. You can use this sites search engine to find places that sell key/Fob batches and maybe even do certain manufacturers programming if they are given the rights to. The problem is, a manufucatutrer gives the rights to someone and they start breaking into cars with it and the program flash gets passed along until the system is a moot point. It does not matter how many Fobs and/or keys you do at once, I am sure there is some limit, but it is worth getting a few because the programming is several hundred dollars.
The search engine also is helpful as it finds dealers near you that have good prices by fidning your location from where you login. So when you search anything on the site, the applicable results will be repair/parts stores near you. Also, you may have a failed Fob so look into getting a new set of them and keys usually come with the really good deals.
