When I put my car in reverse it wouldn't go, I was in a little pot hole with my back tire so I thought that was the problem. I didn't push it and just put the car in drive and went forward. It was fine for a couple days and then just "felt funny". Can't really describe it but didn't feel quite right. We went out that night and on the way home made a little U-turn and we were going forward and the car just stopped. Like hitting a brick wall. No matter what gear we put it in it wouldn't move. We were only going about 5-10 mph (cause of our turn) and we stopped so hard we both hit our heads on the dash. I've never heard of the transmission going out like that. Is this normal. If I had been going to work on the interstate at 65 mph I can just imagine what would have happened. Is this something that is normal? Iv'e got a new vehicle now but I'm afraid to drive for the first time in my life in case something like this happens again.
