I have a 1999 Chevy Venture that I changed the battery and alternator. Battery cable is tight and I change the belt still have battery light on what can I check next? I need help.

Did you have the old alternator tested out of the van to see if its bad?Also do you have a multimeter?Did you have the new alternator tested before leaving the store.
