how change cam sensor on a a 1999 chevy venture

NOTE: The Camshaft Position Sensor graphic illustrates the original factory installation. Do not route the new sensor pigtail as shown. Follow the Installation procedure below. Handle carefully in order to avoid damage to the sensor and pigtail. Route away from electronic components in order to avoid Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) .

REMOVAL PROCEDURE


Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove the serpentine drive belt.
Remove the power steering pump assembly.
Remove the electrical connector.
Remove the bolt.
Remove the sensor.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.



Install the Camshaft Position Sensor.
Tighten
Tighten the retaining bolt to 10 N.m (8 lb ft) .



Connect the electrical connector.
Install the power steering pump.
Install the serpentine drive belt.
Connect the negative battery cable.
