voltage regulator goes up and down when going down the road some times I have to throw it in neutral and reave motor and some times I can let up off gas and voltage will go back up and some times it doesn't work and the truck dies

have the belt and tensioner checked for wear recommended replacement is 60 k for both. clean battery terminal ends an dhave battery checked for condition including load test.
