Was driving a couple miles then noticed temp Gage was falling

1990 chevy 1 ton truck. And stayed down below 100. What does that mean? Was driving fine. Still is I shut it off once and had a little trouble starting. Was off about 40 min. And started up fine. But the temp. Gage is dropped. I think maybe has to do with the AC.

why do you say that? 100 is a pretty cold engine. do you think it's accurate. Sounds like the sender has gone bad.
