1999 Chevrolet Suburban Tailgate Glass Electronic Release Stopped Working Today

the tailgate glass electronic release stopped working today in my 99 chevy suburban. When i use the switch on the dash or the remote nothing happens, not even a sound from the solenoid. But i can still open the glass with the key.

check for power or signal to the rear latch when the switch is pushed. the latch may be the failure
