1999 Chevrolet Silverado replacing intake manifold gasket

i am going to be replacing the intake manifold gasket that causing a vacuum leak,
a friend of mine said i need to be carefull when removing the intake manifold because it will have coolant in it that can spill/ leak into the valves below,
the haynes repair manual i have does not mention this ,
can you advise if this is the case?

it may not have it like the older ones did. but you have to drain the coolant and not a lot of coolant will get into engine anyhow but you are going to change oil and filter as well so it really shouldn't matter.

oops screwed up thought it was 5.7 5.3 you dont' need to worry about it.
