what would cause a clattering noise during excelleration between 10 and 30 mph on a 1999 silverado

Do you have a check engine light? Could be pinging due to the EGR valve and type of fuel being used-overly advanced ignition timing

The clattering stop's when truck in nuetral or revers or park. clatters only going forward.
