Hello all, I have a 1999 s10 pickup 2.2l rwd.
I have to replace the cylinder head and gasket but when I'm online at orileys its listing to different parts one at $299 and another at $399 and it saying the casting numbers are different.
I just don't know which one I need for my s10. Is there a really big difference between the two? Or would either one work?

Thanks in advance!

Over the years, GM used two different head gaskets through 1997; 1998 is similar to the present one, but has a different casting number. From 1999 to present, cylinder head casting number 24576146 has been used. Will it make a difference, yes. If you use the wrong one you will be overheating all the time. Plus, the exhaust ports are different and it will leak.

Let me know if you have other questions.

Easiest way to be sure is to get the casting number off your cylinder head and match it. Or take it to a machine shop and have it rebuilt. Then you know it will fit.
