I seem to have steam coming through the vents in my dash. The windshield and windows steam up often also. It does not have the scent of antifreeze nor does it smear on the windshield. What could be causing this?

If the evaporator drains are restricting water, or plugged, that may be a cause. If you are not losing coolant, nor do you smell the sweetness of coolant, then there is no reason to suspect a heater core. If the windows fog up as the vehicle sits, you may have water somewhere inside the vehicle due to a water leak. Check the spare tire well, and under the carpet at all four positions of the passenger compartment.

Thank you very much. So it sounds as though it is safe to drive?

As long as you fluids are staying full, it should be safe to drive. It can become a bit of a nuisance. If there is a water leak somewhere in the vehicle causing to condensation, eventually you will get mold/mildew formation.
