Hello. I have a 99 malibu 3.1L V6. The heater hoses were leaking, so we replaced them. The new connectors won't fit (I'm assuming because the engine was replaced from a salvaged car, so it might be the wrong size). Is it OK to just clamp the hoses without the plastic connectors? We have already done that, just so I could drive it home. Will it be alright to leave it that way? Or do I need to find a different brand of connector?

I'm assuming your talking about a quick disconnect connector? The used engine had clamps holding the hoses on. Its ok as long as the hose is not being pulled and is routed well. Just make shore the connection is clean and tight.

Thanks for your help. The used engine also used quick connect, but were old and leaking, and my dad and I had to break them just to get them off (didn't know there was a special tool). I'll make sure they are clamped tight. Thanks again.
