1999 Chevrolet Lumina Tail lights won't work

My boyfriend just replaced the multifunctional turn signal switch and the break lights work now, but the tail lights dont work and they did before. I checked all fuses. Could I have done something wrong when i put the new signal switch in? It seems like the steering wheel and air bag and ignition switch are all loose now.
