My car runs smooth until you turn the air conditioner on. When you're driving it's okay, but when you slow down for a light or stop sign it acts like it wants to die. I just had freon put in, and they replaced a hose and checked the compressor. It was fine. Could this be the idle air control valve? I really don't want to put a lot more money in it so hopefully it's not too bad. Thanks for your help!

Most likely it's the IAC. It should increase RPM's when the AC is turned on. Also, check to make sure there are no vacuum leaks.

Thank you. I will take it back and make sure they check these things.
