which heater hose is into the heater core and which one is out?

One heater hose runs from the water pump to the heater core and one from the motor to the heater core. But to flush it, 1 needs to go in and 1 out, but not sure which is in & which is out.... ?

so just flush it both ways? no problem. i would guess pump hose is IN hose.
