Service engine light and check gas cap light will not turn off

I have a 1999 Cadillac Deville (base). The "check gas cap" sign came on in my car. I bought a new one but the sign is still on. When that light came on the "service engine soon" sign also came on, they both are still on is there a way to turn them off?

the light has to be removed by using an engine scan tool. the gas caps have to have three clicks after fueling. it cold be an evap problem as well. the only way to fix it is to get it scanned, any auto parts store can do this.
