99 cadillac devilleI know that I have a damaged CV Boot. although today by the front passenger area there is a pool which appears to be oil is this related?

Oil would not correspond with a leaking CV boot, grease slung around the area of the boot damage is what would be symptom. Is there a color to this oil, is it confirmed as engine oil?
