99 buick PA. power seat fwrd/back ok, tilt/up down inoperable. motor hums but worm gear not turning. problem on both driver & passenger.

Are the seats all the way down. It is possible that the worm gear is jammed. Tap the motor with a hammer while operating it up. Once it goes up find a hose clamp or a tie to put in the shaft to prevent the seat fro going all the way down.
