I am considering buying a 99 BMW Z3 with only 30K miles. It still has the original belts, hose, tires, etc. (Only battery in NOT original). Will I need to replace ALL of these items for the car to be safe/drivable? How often, even if only a weekend/ summer drive car should all the rubber be replaced? What other concerns should I have regarding a 16-year-old car that is all original? Thank you, Rob

There is no set time to replace most hoses and external drive belts, you normally change these on as, as need basis. If you intend to keep this car for some time, you can change the hoses and belts now, and have many years service out of them, you can flush the coolant at the same time, then you know all will be in order with these components for some time to come.
