does it matter if i replace my instrument cluster( manual ) with a automatic one or does it need to be manual.

The best way to know this is to ask the parts department if these part numbers can be substituted for each other. I have changed clusters in an Impala SS with a Z28 cluster. Had to do cutting of the dash etc. Why do you want to change
