i have a bmw and when i change gears 1-3 there is a clunking sound and the gear change is jerky can you advise me on the problem thanks tony

The description of your problem could be several things, guessing might be a poor option and I recommend you seek out someone to give your car a safety inspection. Having said that, you might have a bushing failure or a drive shaft issue, I dont know exactly. Maybe a more detailed description of the problem would be helpful. Clunking and jerking leave many possibilities.
