How could my engine have ceased please

after an oil and oil filter change my car engine seized whilst driving, there was flames and a bang and then it was dead, what could have caused this as my oil sump is still on just below full mark but there was loads and loads of oil everywhere

Without any understanding of where the oil is coming from, there is noway anybody can tell you what had happened. You need someone to have a look at it to determine what had caused the problem.
