Recently while driving ive noticed that in 5th gear, between 3500rpm and up past 4000rpm, my engine sounds strained as though its running dry and rough. Its rectifys itself once i slow down and keep below 3500rpm in all gears. Ive regularly checked oils and coolant and all seems fine. can you tell me what this could be a sign of?

High speed misfire maybe, have engine ignition system checked out first.
