I bought an 99 Audi A4 avant at a dealership on 27/2/2011. I've now had the car for 2 weeks and I think I might have been taken for a ride.

Just as I left the dealership the day I got the car, there has been a warning light flashing (!) Like your hand break light.

It also needed a service on 135 000km so as I left the dealership on my way home (120km from where I bought it) it started flashing service required.

I took the car in to a local guy and he said the cambelt needed to be changed at 120 000km's and its not mentioned in the full service history that it has been replaced.

When I took the car back to the dealer's mechanic to do the service, he serviced the car but said the cambelt is fairly new so it's probably been replaced. I'm a bit hesitant to believe them now cause i'm so scared of being scammed by a second hand car dealer here.

The flashing light needed to be taken to an auto electrician which I did, and it turns out, it's the ABS Contoller arm that needs to be replaced.

This car is still under amonth guarentee and i'm in two minds on whether I should get them to fix the car or just cut my losses and get my money back.

Also i'd like to know whether driving for a long time without the ABS Controller may have caused other problems for the car in the long run?

What is your honest take on this?

The ABS controler shouldn't hurt anything. However, if you feel the vehicle is a lemon, you have had that many problems with it, I would demand they fix everything that is bad or give you your money back.
