I have a 98 passat 1.8 turbo....was running fine then shut off on highway....the first few cranks it acts like it wants to run....then it just keeps cranking....i had a helper crank engine while i checked for spark....at first 3 of the 4 coils sparked, but after several cranks about 10 seconds worth none of the coils deliver spark to the plugs..... The injectors are delivering fuel......while cranking, is it normal for oil gauge to flash and chime? I have no tools to check coils but im sure they didnt all go bad at once.....im. assuming that the engine control module is bad..... Any advice would be gladly appreciated......thanks kevin
