I was changing the distributor cap. When putting the new one on the back clip holding the cap down busted off. Is it possible to just get a new clip and avoid buying a very expensive part that is perfect except for the darn clip?

Interestingly I just did a tuneup on my 98 jetta and the clip toward the engine block broke as well. It's actually part of the distributor which is a $300 part. I've read people using zip ties for years without issues. I'm not dumping $300 when the clips broke if I don't have too. Zip tie So far so good. Still runs like a champ and getting around 31 mpg still.

Is it the cap that is moving or the distributor itself?
