it connects to the side of the engine and all the heater and coolant hoses hook onto it but it is cracked so need to buy a new one but cant find out what it is called exactly.

I think this is what you are looking for. It is called the AC Thermal Switch F163 and Third Speed Coolant Fan Control Thermal Switch F165. To be sure I would check with the dealer.
