I replaced the battery on the car when I turned the car on I noticed the odometer didnt work. The stereo was out along with the cig lighter. I tried the fuses and they all checked out. Being that its a VW I know theres a gimmick. I just found out today that the dipstick for the tranny is on the under side of the transmission and that its a cap and not the conventional kind.

Get a test light or DVOM to test the power supply from the fuse to the radio.
