Engine turn over. Toyota Conquest 1998 1.3L 2E motor.

Engine turns, fire on spark plugs, fuel in the system, but still won't start.
Already replaced distributor, new battery, new plugs and plug leads.

What can be wrong?

It is not fuel injected. It is a 1.3L carburated model.

Check engine compression. Ensure ignition timing is correct.

Hi check your timingbelt, it's a common thing with 1300, 2e engines if you didn't replace it yet. It breaks if there's oil spillage on the belt or some cracks. Valves bending when belt snaps

Thanx for the replies.
I cleaned out the carburator and the car started without problems.
About two weeks ago the cambelt finally broke as I was going about 100km/h.
Had to be towed in, luckily no valves was bend. I replaced the cambelt and fanbelt and the car is going smoothly.
No more problems as yet.
