When I tried to speed it up the gear goes up and down?

When ascending hill it slows down and when I tried to speed it up the gear goes up and down again and again. As if the gear wants to engage a higher gear it drops back to the lower gear and it repeats cycle. Please I need your help. Thanks

Scan for codes but I don't think much is wrong with it. Hills will do that. It may also be age of car.

Hmm, I have seen the input shaft speed sensor get weak and cause this issue or the catalytic converter is partially clogged up, this guide can help with testing the cat and I have included the input shaft speed sensor location in case you want to swap it out.
